HeyEddie
Terms — Form E-52

Terms of Service

The deal between you and Eddie. Short sections, no small print hidden in the small print.

DraftLast updated 1 September 2026. Pending legal review — this wording may change before it is final.

01The agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Squishy Intelligence Ltd ("we", "us", "Eddie"), a company registered in England and Wales. Company number and registered office: to be added before publication. By starting a trial or using Eddie you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.

Eddie is a business tool for sole traders and trade businesses. By signing up you confirm you are using Eddie for your trade, not as a consumer, and that you are entitled to bind the business you sign up.

02What Eddie does

Eddie is an AI back office for UK tradespeople. When you forward your calls, Eddie answers them, asks the right questions for your trade, books jobs into your calendar, confirms with the customer, sends you a morning briefing, and — when you tell it a job is done — sends the invoice and chases payment. You manage everything over WhatsApp or the Eddie app.

Eddie is available to the trades listed at signup. We add trades in waves; you can join the waitlist for yours.

03Free trial, price and billing

  • 14-day free trial. Your trial starts when you complete signup. We take card details through Stripe at signup so the service carries on without a gap, but nothing is charged during the trial.
  • £49 per month after the trial, billed monthly in advance to the card you gave Stripe, starting on the day the trial ends. If you cancel before then, you pay nothing.
  • 1% invoice fee. When a customer pays an invoice through an Eddie payment link, we charge a fee of 1% of the invoice value. This is in addition to Stripe's card-processing fees, which Stripe sets and shows you when you connect your Stripe account.
  • Prices are in pounds sterling. Where VAT applies it will be shown on your Stripe receipts.
  • If a payment fails we'll let you know and retry. If it keeps failing we may pause Eddie — meaning your Eddie number stops answering — until it's sorted.
  • We can change the price with at least 30 days' notice by email. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before it takes effect.

04Cancelling

  • Cancel any time from Settings in the app, or by emailing support@heyeddie.co.uk. No notice period, no exit fee, no contract.
  • Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for. We don't refund part-months, except where the law requires it.
  • When your subscription ends your Eddie number is released and Eddie stops answering. Remove the forwarding codes from your phone (dial ##002#) so calls ring you directly again.
  • Export your customers, jobs and invoices from the app before you cancel. After that we delete your data on the schedule in the Privacy Policy.

05Your number and call forwarding

You keep your own phone number. Eddie gives you a separate UK number and you choose when calls are forwarded to it (on no answer, when busy, when unreachable) by dialling codes on your phone — see the Help page. Forwarding is a feature of your mobile network; your network may charge for forwarded calls under your tariff, and we can't control whether a particular network supports it.

Your Eddie number belongs to us and is allocated to you while you subscribe. We may need to change it in rare cases (for example if a provider withdraws it); we'll tell you in advance where we can.

06AI, recordings and checking Eddie's work

  • Eddie is an AI, not a person. It's good, but it can mishear, misunderstand or get something wrong. It can't handle emergencies — anyone in danger should call 999.
  • You are responsible for checking Eddie's work. Bookings, quotes and invoices are shown to you before or as they go out and you can correct or cancel them. Prices, VAT, and what you say to customers are your responsibility, not ours.
  • Disclosure to callers. Eddie identifies itself as an AI assistant to callers where the law requires it or where you switch that on in your settings. You must not instruct Eddie to claim to be a human when asked.
  • Recording. Calls to your Eddie number are recorded and transcribed, and WhatsApp messages are stored, so that the service works and you can check what was said. You are responsible for telling your customers about this where the law requires you to (for example on your website, voicemail greeting or terms).

07Your customers' data

You are the controller of your customers' personal data and must have a lawful basis to give it to Eddie. We process it on your behalf to provide the service, as set out in the Privacy Policy, and won't use it for anything else. We may add formal data-processing terms to this agreement; if we do they'll form part of it.

08Invoices and payments

Invoice payments run on Stripe Connect. Customers pay into your own Stripe account; Eddie never holds your money. Stripe's terms apply to that account, and Stripe may need to verify your identity before paying out. You are responsible for the accuracy of your invoices, for charging the right VAT, and for your own tax and record-keeping obligations. Eddie keeps invoice and payment records for six years to help with that.

09Acceptable use

Don't use Eddie to:

  • break the law, or make Eddie say anything unlawful, misleading, discriminatory or abusive to callers;
  • send spam or unsolicited marketing over WhatsApp, SMS or email;
  • forward a number you don't have the right to forward, or use Eddie for anything other than your own trade business;
  • share your login, resell access, or run more than one business through one account (Eddie is for sole traders at launch — teams are coming);
  • probe, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

10Availability

We work hard to keep Eddie up, but we can't promise it will be available all the time. Eddie depends on phone networks, Twilio, ElevenLabs, WhatsApp, Stripe and Google, and any of them can have an outage. We may take the service down briefly for maintenance and will try to do it outside working hours. Keep your forwarding set to "no answer" rather than "all calls" if you want your phone to ring first.

11Your data, our software

Your data is yours — customers, jobs, invoices, recordings. You give us a licence to store and process it only to provide the service. Eddie's software, models, prompts, voice and branding are ours and stay ours. Anonymised, aggregated learnings about how jobs are booked across trades help us make Eddie better for everyone; they never identify you or your customers.

12Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
  • Subject to that, we are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost jobs or missed calls, damage to reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss — including where Eddie mishears a caller, books a job wrongly, or fails to answer.
  • Our total liability to you for everything arising under these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
  • Eddie is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will suit your business or be error-free.

13Ending the agreement

You can end it by cancelling (section 4). We can end it, or suspend your account, if you break these terms, don't pay, or if we have to withdraw the service — in which case we'll give you as much notice as we reasonably can and refund any period you've paid for but not had.

14Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For anything material we'll email account holders at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Carrying on using Eddie after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, cancel before they apply.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. Before going to court, email support@heyeddie.co.uk — most things can be sorted with a conversation.
