Help & Support

How Eddie works, how to set it up, and how to reach a human if you need one.

01How Eddie works

  1. Customer calls. When you can't pick up, the call forwards to Eddie. Eddie answers, asks the right questions for your trade, and books the job into your calendar.
  2. Morning brief. Every morning Eddie sends a WhatsApp with your day: jobs, addresses, map links, drive times and customer notes.
  3. Job done. Text Eddie something like "maple road done, invoice 380". The invoice goes to the customer with a payment link.
  4. Paid. The customer pays, you get the notification. Eddie chases the ones who don't.

02Getting set up

  1. Sign up at heyeddie.co.uk — first name, email, trade. You'll add a card with Stripe; nothing is charged for 14 days.
  2. Give Eddie your mobile number on the welcome page. Eddie rings you straight away.
  3. Take the setup call — about five minutes. Eddie asks about your business, where you work, your pricing and hours.
  4. Check the summary. Back on the welcome page, correct anything Eddie misheard and confirm.
  5. Get your Eddie number. Eddie provisions a UK number for you on the spot and shows you the forwarding code.
  6. Forward your calls — see below. From then on Eddie answers whatever you miss.

Missed the call?

If Eddie got your voicemail, the welcome page shows an "Eddie, call me again" button. You can ask for up to three calls. If it still doesn't work, email support and we'll finish setup with you.

03Forwarding your calls

You keep your own number. Forwarding tells your mobile network to send certain calls to your Eddie number instead. Dial the code from your phone's keypad and press call — you'll get a short confirmation from the network. Replace 07123 456789 with your Eddie number (it's in the app under Settings, and on the welcome page).

On no answer
**61*07123456789#

Rings you first for 15–30 seconds, then goes to Eddie. Most people use this one.

When unreachable
**62*07123456789#

Phone off, on a plane, or no signal in the loft.

When busy
**67*07123456789#

You're already on another call.

Switch it all off
##002#

Cancels every forwarding rule. Use this if you cancel Eddie.

  • Set all three codes and Eddie catches every call you'd otherwise miss. Set just the first if you'd rather keep it simple.
  • The codes work on EE, O2, Vodafone, Three and most UK networks. If your network rejects one, try the +44 form of your Eddie number (for example **61*+447123456789#), or set forwarding in your phone's settings.
  • Forwarded calls are carried by your network; check your tariff if you're worried about charges.
  • To check what's set, dial *#61#, *#62# or *#67#.

04Logging in to the app

  1. Open the Eddie app on your phone. Haven't got it? Email support and we'll send you the link for iPhone or Android.
  2. Enter the mobile number you gave Eddie during setup (07… format) and tap Send code.
  3. Type in the 6-digit code we text you. That's it — no password to remember.

Didn't get a code? Wait a minute and tap Resend. Codes are rate-limited, so after a few tries you'll need to wait five minutes. If the number you use has changed, email support so we can update it.

05Running things on WhatsApp

You don't need the app day to day. Message Eddie on WhatsApp from the number you registered and it understands plain English:

  • "What's on tomorrow?" — your schedule
  • "Block Friday afternoon" — updates your availability
  • "Maple road done, invoice 380" — sends the invoice
  • "Quote 12 Elm Close £1,200 for the rewire" — sends a quote
  • "Who's not paid?" — overdue invoices

Everything you can do on WhatsApp you can do in the app, and vice versa.

06Billing and cancelling

  • 14 days free, then £49 a month, plus 1% of each invoice paid through an Eddie payment link. Card processing is by Stripe at Stripe's rates.
  • Cancel any time from Settings in the app or by emailing support. No notice, no exit fee. Export your data first if you want a copy.
  • After cancelling, dial ##002# so your calls ring you directly again.

Full details are in the Terms of Service.

07Common questions

Is it really AI on the phone?

Yes. Eddie uses voice AI with a natural British accent. You can listen to every call recording in the app. Eddie tells callers it's an AI assistant where the law requires it or where you switch that on.

What if Eddie gets something wrong?

Eddie confirms every booking with the customer on WhatsApp and sends you the details straight away. Nothing goes out — quote, invoice or booking — without you being able to check it. Correct it in the app or tell Eddie on WhatsApp.

Does my number change?

No. Same number on your van, your listings and your cards. Eddie only answers when you don't.

Can I stop Eddie answering for a bit?

Dial ##002# to switch forwarding off, and set it again when you're back. You can also pause Eddie from the app.

What happens to my data?

It's yours. Recordings are kept for 180 days, transcripts for two years, and invoices for six years as UK law requires. Details in the Privacy Policy.
